Weeks after Brexit. Why are deliveries still taking longer? Click Here
UPDATE – 21/1/21 – 126 parcels left us today for delivery Fri/Sat. Most orders placed up to 12/1 are now on route to customers (though there may still be the odd one going through the system) More are due to us and to customers Tomorrow. Optimistic that by the middle of next week delays may be a few days not weeks as they have been – There’s light at the end of the tunnel at last
UPDATE – 20/1/21 – We are hearing from customers that their delayed orders are now being delivered. However with the amount that there was, there’s still a long way to go. DPD collected another 15 pallets today for delivery Thurs/Fri and another 12 tomorrow for delivery Fri/Sat. This has caused a knock on effect for all orders placed, and being placed, in January. Please allow for this when placing your order(Click on Deliveries) It’s getting better and it will get resolved but new customs issues due to Brexit and reduced customs officials due to Covid is hampering things going forward. We thank you for your patience and understanding and will continue to keep you updated via this page.
UPDATE-19/1/21 – Many of you are receiving confusing texts from DPD regarding deliveries. These are automated and a bit out of sync. It means your goods have finally arrived in the UK and DPD expect to have all these delivered this week including Saturday and Sunday
UPDATE – 17/1/21 – 15 pallets have arrived at Snickers Huddersfield this morning this should clear the original delayed orders. The packages on the 3 pallets from Friday will leave Today for delivery Tues/Wed – The packages on the 15 pallets will move over Tues/Wed for delivery Thurs/Fri – PLEASE NO SNOW !!!
7/1/21 – The latest information from Snickers Head Office:
Parcels being shipped from Snickers Central Warehouse are facing massive delays due to unforeseen custom issues.
Many deliveries for orders placed just before the Holidays and since will be delayed until W/C 18th January
We, and Snickers, appreciate that this will cause some distress, but we do ask for some consideration to be made for having to deal with an issue like Brexit that has never occurred before.
A deal was struck at the 12th hour but the requirements to implement the new stricter rules, that were unclear until the following day at the earliest, are taking longer than anyone could prepare for.
Add to this the recent national CoVid lockdown and this is made even more difficult to implement
We are posting this now as it will also affect any further orders placed throughout January causing slower deliveries so we would prefer to be honest up front to give you the option before proceeding.
For those of you waiting we can assure you YOUR GOODS WILL ARRIVE They are in containers and if there was anything, we at Century Workwear could do we would but we, along with many companies in the UK are, if you can forgive the pun, in the same boat.
Please stay safe and we will update here with any new information
